INDIANS

In this writing, I want to give some information about the Indians. My reason of choosing Indians is that I am curious about their life. Firstly, one of the very first things to be known about the Indians is that there are many types of them. We can recognize an Indian thanks to his tepee, his shining appearance from the moccasins to the headbands, his beautiful hat with feather and his braided, black and long hair, the tomahawk, the drum, the tam-tam, the knife, and the red-stoned pipe which is garnished tremendously and has a body as long as an arm. I think, these things make them cool! :)

In 1541, when the Spanish cavaliers arrived the Great Plains, the sole draught animal which the Indians use was dog. It is interesting that due to the Spanish horses, which escaped, used by the Indians, the unique culture began to shape. For Sioux, Cheyenne, Arapaho and the other tribes which adopted the nomadic life and especially lived in Great Plains and in its west, the horse not only was the most remarkable means which supported the style of life and even contributed to its occurrence but also was an indicator of wealth and statute. In their age, sign language is one of the mutual understanding languages. It is known that Klavvos used this language perfectly. Sign language with the help of the Crows reached the Canadian lands. Similarly, as an example of communication, smoke signals can be thought and I think if we are thinking about their age, it is very useful communication type. Also, the unique Indian alphabet which is only known was developed by Sequoya from the folk of Cherokee and for a language which do not have a written tradition, this alphabet is a peerless example in the history of world.
